Making your own chocolate isn’t as hard as you might think! This recipe makes a darker chocolate, if you prefer yours less rich just adjust the amounts of sweetener and cacao powder that you use.

Ingredients

1 cup cacao butter (I used The Source Bulk Foods)

4.5 tbs cacao powder (I used Nutra Organics)

1 heaped tbs raw honey or pure maple syrup

1 tbs cashew butter, macadamia butter also works great (I used Noya)

1 tsp vanilla (I used Simply Organic)

Handful of chopped macadamia nuts

Method

  1. Melt cacao butter on low heat on stove (as you would normally melt chocolate)

  2. While cacao butter is melting either place chopped macadamia nuts into chocolate silicone moulds or line a small tray and scatter chopped macadamia over tray

  3. Once cacao butter has melted remove from heat and add cacao powder, honey, vanilla and cashew butter to bowl

  4. Mix with whisk, ensuring all ingredients are mixed in well

  5. Spoon chocolate mixture into silicone moulds or pour mixture into lined tray

  6. Place in freezer and freeze for approximately 1.5 hours or until chocolate has become hard

  7. Store in fridge or freezer
